Seed to harvest in about 80 days
Here's what growing a mini cannabis plant looks like, week by week. Our weekly videos show you what your plant should look like at every stage, and our grow coaches answer by email if anything looks off.
Day 1
Fill the fabric pot with Superb Soil and top soil, then start your autoflower seed in the peat pellet with the rooting booster. About 15 minutes.
Weeks 1–3
Your seedling roots into the living soil and puts out its first sets of leaves. Keep it in your sunniest spot and water when the top of the soil feels dry.
Weeks 4–6
Autoflowers start to flower on their own as they age. No light schedule to change. The small pot dries fast now, so check the soil every day.
Weeks 7–11
Buds swell and the plant fills your room with its scent. The videos show you how to tell when it's ready.
Around day 80
Trim it, dry it, done. Up to 1 oz of fresh weed you grew yourself, worth about $48 at the dispensary.

The Bonsai grows best in the sunniest spot you have. Anywhere that gets a few hours of direct sun works, indoors, all year round.

A south- or west-facing window with a few hours of direct sun is all the light a Bonsai needs. No bulb, no power bill.
☀ Great
Keep it close to the glass so it catches the sun. Turn the pot every few days so it grows evenly.
💡 Low on sun
No sunny window? Use a 36-watt grow bulb about 6 inches above the plant and give it some airflow.
🌿 Outdoors
It can sit outside in a spot with sun and some shade, but the Bonsai is happiest indoors. For a big outdoor plant, see the 35 Gallon kit.
Autoflower seeds only: they flower on their own and stay compact. Photoperiod strains grow too big for a 1/2 gallon pot.
