Zkittlez Strain: Type, Aroma and Flavor

Zkittlez Autoflower is a feminized, indica-leaning hybrid and a favorite with flavor chasers. It’s renowned for its candy nose: a sweet, floral and tropical profile that creates an unmistakable rainbow-candy smell, with sweet tropical fruit, sharp citrus and, sometimes, a hint of lemon cheesecake. Unlike gassy or skunky hybrids, it’s all candy. Linalool is one of its leading terpenes. Grow it for the looks, too: purple hues show up in the tips of the buds and leaves, and the bright buds get so coated in trichomes they look like jewelry when trimmed, or like they were dipped in sugar.

How to Grow Zkittlez Autoflower Seeds in a Pot for Pot Kit

Plant one seed in our organic super soil and just add water. Zkittlez performs well in any of our kits from the 1/2 gallon Bonsai to the 5 gallon, which makes it a good fit for flavor chasers with limited space. It’s an autoflower, so it switches to flower on its own; you skip the light schedules that photoperiod strains need. Indoors, keep lights on 18 hours on and 6 off (or 20/4) from seed to harvest, and use strong light to build trichome-heavy resin. It grows compact and bushy, even more so than Biscotti Autoflower, so gently tie down the main stem (LST) to open the canopy and get light to the lower nodes for an even harvest. Zkittlez Flowering Time and Plant Size

Autoflowers run on their own clock, so you can plan the whole grow from the day you plant. In our Indoor 2 Gallon kit, plan on as little as 80 days from seed to harvest. Zkittlez grows small plants indoors and outside: short and stout, which suits a tent, a sunny balcony or a backyard bed. Like its flavorful cousin Tropicana Cookies Autoflower, it flowers automatically, so you can focus on the flavor.

Growing Zkittlez Indoors vs Outdoors

Outdoors: it’s a hardy, sun-loving producer. It flourishes in warm, sunny climates, and as an autoflower it adapts to shorter, temperate northern summers, handling early cold snaps better than pure indicas like Purple Kush. It prefers stable weather. For the sweetest buds, plant in June or July to catch the peak sun; you can also start seedlings indoors as early as May. It finishes fast enough to avoid the pests and mold of a long autumn, and you can fit more than one harvest into a year. Give it good airflow to prevent mold. Indoors: keep the climate steady, like a mild Mediterranean summer, to protect the delicate candy terpenes. The smell gets very sweet and pungent late in bloom, so run good airflow and a carbon filter, and keep humidity low to protect the thick, sugar-coated colas.
